About KidWings

One small discovery can spark a lifelong interest in science — and at KidWings, that discovery often begins with an owl.

By building free online labs, games, films and classroom activities, KidWings helps students uncover bones, investigate wildlife and explore how living things connect. Founded by educator Jody Hildreth and acquired from him nearly two decades ago by Owl Brand Discovery Kits, KidWings carries forward a simple belief: every child deserves the opportunity to experience the excitement of science.

The owl is our conduit, leading from a discovery in the classroom to a deeper understanding of the wild.

That discovery begins a larger journey through the Passport to Wildlife ecosystem. Owl Brand Discovery Kits puts hands-on science within reach. OwlPelletData.com connects individual observations to a shared community of learners. MyOwlBox.com brings owl habitat conservation into practice, while the Wolf Education & Research Center at WolfCenter.org expands understanding of wild carnivores and coexistence. Passport to Wildlife Academy at P2W.Academy carries learning further through structured lessons in biology, ecology and wildlife science.

From the first bone uncovered to the next habitat protected, KidWings connects curiosity with the knowledge and confidence to make a difference.

What is free, and why

All of it. The games, the films, the activities, the lot — no accounts, no adverts, nothing that asks a child for their name. It is paid for by the business that owns it: Owl Brand Discovery Kits sells sterilised barn owl pellets, bone charts and class sets to schools, and that shop is the whole model. There is nothing to buy on this site.

Privacy, briefly

The games remember where you got to using your own browser's storage, on the machine you played on, and so do the answers written under the films. Nothing is sent anywhere, there is no analytics on the games, and there is no account to make. The films themselves are on YouTube, and nothing is requested from YouTube until you press play.
